Brotnjo
is a plateau situated in the southwest of Bosnia
and Herzegovina, stretching from the town of
Mostar along the Neretva river valley in the
southwest to the towns of Široki Brijeg, Ljubuški
and Čapljina to the northwest and south.
The administrative centre of the area is Čitluk,
the most inhabited place
and Medjugorje
which has become in the last two decades one of
the most famous pilgrimage places in the world.
The
people of Brotnjo have fought desperately through
centuries to survive, which strengthened their
spirit, loyalty, persistence and hardworking.
Vine
and tobacco are the agricultural products which
have been cultivated by generations. Today you can
enjoy here the drops of high-quality wine made of
the authentic sorts of Žilavka and Blatina
experiencing thus the union of nature,
quality and tradition.
Meditterranean
climate with warm summers and mild winters enables
cultivation of grapes, figs, almonds, oranges and
olives, which gives air of warmth and gentleness
to this area and its inhabitants.
